We had this model refrigerator for over 15 years. Loved it! So then so we decided to get the same one. Absolutely love it and are thrilled with some of the improvements we noticed. Very sturdy steel cabinet, unlike some of the cheap tinny stuff out there! Lots of room and nice configuration of the shelving. Easily accessible for top and love the bottom freezer section. Great product.

I was so happy to finally get rid of the refrigerator that came with my home eight years ago. I took my time shopping for the right replacement watching for sales and reviews that matched my list of requirements. This model gets a five star rating from me! The shelves are sturdy and easy to rearrange. The unit is quiet; much quieter than the one it replaced. And it doesn™€™t have the nasty, dusty coil on the back. The capacity is definitely an upgrade, especially the door. It is well lit and the shelves are easy to clean. Temps have been consistent. Having the freezer on the bottom makes it much easier to see the contents of the more often accessed refrigerator area. Delivery was efficient and the two gentlemen who did the installation didn™€™t even complain when they had to take the doors off of the refrigerator to fit it through the entry. We are very pleased with this purchase!

Bottom freezer position the BEST

My old Amana fridge was 23 years old and finally gave up. Only one minor service call in all those years. I still liked the basic layout and large freezer space so I bought another one just like it. The old one was good to me through all the family years. New LED lighting is far superior to the old lighting. Digital temp gauges. Nice upgrades in that way. Hoping for many years with the new one.

Satisfactory, but not stellar

Freezer space is the biggest problem on this model, and the gap between the upper and lower drawers of said freezer allows for items to get dragged out or jammed. The top refrigerator is nice, but the space designed for eggs is too smal for a dozen carton, and having loose eggs rattle around in the door doesn't make sense.

I bought this a month ago to replace our 25 yr old Amana Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, very similar model only the old freezer door swung open vs pulls open like this one. Since the first one lasted for so long without any issue until the end, it was a very easy choice of what to buy to replace it!

I am very disappointed in this model which I purchased the first time 22 years ago. I understand that things change and prices increase. The price has doubled, $2000. The workmanship on this model has fallen way short of quality work. The condenser behind the bottom front grill had overflows of foam insulation. The shelving brackets that hold up the shelves are not at the same levels. None of the shelves slide out like the last model. The produce drawers stick going in and come out completely. The door shelves are not contoured so items can be placed in them easily. The front of the shelves are not lower so items can be placed in them without hitting the above shelf. There no wire pullout drawer for cans, the freezer is missing ice trays and ice container. Lazy design. Not to mention the delivery time took almost 8 weeks. I am told because the factory has to retool from other models.

Works well except for annoying intermitted noise

I bought this unit in July of 2024. It has worked well, maintaining the temperatures of the fridge and freezer. About mid September, it started making an annoying Woodpecker like noise that comes from the circulating fan in the refrigerator section. The noise lasts about two seconds then quiet for one second and then noisy for another two seconds. This even repeats a third time, infrequently. The unit is then quiet for thirty minutes or so and then the noise sequence repeats. I've had a repairman out who informed me that the noise is a common problem. Many owners have the same problem. Sadly, replacing the offending fan and associated assembly DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. There is a very good chance that the replacement parts will begin making the same woodpecker noise at some point.

I bought this about 2 mos ago. This is my second Amanda refrigerator. I had one that was almost identical to this one and had it 17 yrs! I live in a 70 year house and needed a specific size in order to fit the space. This is a ™€œ no frills™€ model which was just what I wanted. Plenty large interior and the freezer is spacious. I™€™m very happy that Amanda chose to continue this great appliance.

Could have been great.

There is an enormous amount of space in the fridge. Nice. There is hardly any *functional* space in the freezer. My old freezer had space on the door for small items that I could reach easily. I could stack things all the way to the top on the inner shelves. This pull out drawer thing has no quick access to small items. And there is a lot of cubic inches lost on top of that upper pull out basket because if I stacked things as high as there is room, they would fall off the back when I pull out the drawer. This freezer setup seems intended for people that mostly use their freezer for boxes of frozen pizza and ice cream. I actually use it for leftovers (small containers) and less frequently used items (also small but easily lost in a basket). To make it worse, there is this divider in the basket that pretends to be adjustable but it isn™€™t. I have no idea how to bring order and maximize capacity in this thing. I no longer buy more ice cream when it goes on sale because it just won't fit in my freezer. I delayed ordering an ice maker for this because it wasn't easy to figure out which kind would work for it. But that turned out to be good because we just set the ice basin from our old freezer in it while we figured it out. After a month of using that old ice, I realized I didn't need to dedicate so much freezer space to something we don't use that much, so I opted to get manual ice trays and a smaller container. It allows a little more space for the things I had taken out of my old freezer than no longer fit. The refrigerator compartment is massive. I like that the shelves are split. In addition to giving more versatility in orientation, split shelving makes it much easier when it's time to clean. The containers on the door don't pop in and out easily like my old Whirlpool did. I liked being able to grab the entire unit of salad dressing and set it out for everyone to pick their favorite, and it also makes cleaning easier. I also wish they had made all of the containers on the door as deep as the lowest one. The only reason not to is to give room to make the interior shelves deeper, but deeper isn't better when you want to access the jars of salsa and applesauce that get shoved in the back--because their isn't room for them on the doors. It does the job it's supposed to do, and it does it quietly, which many fridges in this price range seem unable to figure out. It could have been a fantastic freezer with a little more thought to the design. I'm dreading spending the next decade tugging on that heavy freezer door to move the weight of *all* the contents and bending over at the waist to rummage through a disorganized basket, only to get a small container of leftovers out "real quick." Amana, if you're seriously about delivering a great product that actually works optimally for a family, I can help you out. Let's make my dream fridge happen!

Reported problem with rubber seal

Just one week after the purchase of the new fridge we had a problem with the bottom freezer light and frost forming around the opening. Amana quickly responded and a technician turned up and reported a problem with the rubber seal around the opening. He has ordered a replacement but it takes 2 weeks. We are waiting for his return and the part. ðŸ¤--🙏😊

Awesome Refrigerator

I had a 23 cu. ft. Kenmore Elite French Door Refrigerator that died after only 9 yrs. Even though this refrigerator is only 22 cu. ft., it has much more storage space than the larger Kenmore. The large one piece door with no water dispenser etc. allows for a massive amount of door storage. The compressor is smooth and quit, and keeps everything at the perfect temps in both the refrigerator and the freezer. I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend this appliance to anyone in the market for a refrigerator.

I have an Amana in my garage from 1992 and one behind my bar from 1996. They both are still working great even after I moved almost a year ago. I bought this model when I remodeled the kitchen at my new place and we love it. My Mother is 75 and walks with a cane, she lives with me and this model is great for her. This fridge keeps everything cold evenly, there is a lot of shelf space, the door also has large shelves. Being that my Mom is semi-handicapped we keep everything she consumes at her level so no bending down or high reaching, and nothing gets dropped. When people come over they can't believe how much room a top fridge has (they all have side by side doors). I thought that having a smooth finish on the front doors would get a lot of fingerprints but it cleans up very easy with windex and a paper towel. The fridge at my old house was stainless steel and never looked clean. I will only buy Amana refrigerators from now on I researched all of them but I went with Amana because of my history with the product. This is the BEST fridge ever.

We bought our Amana about a month ago and are enjoying the inside set up a great deal. It's the first time we have had a freezer on the bottom and we like that as well. The only set back I have is that there was a sticky substance on the door when it arrived and in trying to clean it off with dish liquid it left tiny scratches that I am definitely not happy with. I contacted Amana and have not heard from them for a week or so.

ABB2224BRB arrived 4/3/2021 Very roomy inside frig & freezer. Recommended settings for both were "4" but had to increase freezer to "5" for ice cream to be frozen solid. Removed our older Amana frig to garage; this new frig was the same size (height & width) but wouldn't fit under our cabinets because it was "slightly bowed" at the top instead of flat! We had to shave off the 2 cabinets for it to fit into our space !! This was a manufacturing issue. Otherwise, love this bottom freezer Amana refrigerator.

I had my old Amana Bottom Freezer for 18 years. It finally died last month. For the money and the previous experience with reliability why look at anything else? I did look at other brands but kept coming back to the Amana. This is a no frills refrigerator but it is best at keeping food cold period. Hopefully I can get 18 years out of this unit. Solid and reliable!

I purchased this fridge a month ago and could not be more pleased. It is hard enough to find a fridge for a small space, but to find one with this much roominess is nothing short of spectacular. I was a little concerned about the freezer being on the bottom, it my fears were fruitless. I love the pull out drawer. It is so convenient with the sliding baskets. Finding your frozen food is a breeze. Thanks Amana for making such a roomy fridge for small spaces.

We needed to purchase a new refrigerator and were sad to find out White is now an option you have to pay for. We went with the black, and freezer drawer in the bottom. We love our choice.

Good Refrigerator Freezer

I bought this refrigerator/freezer a month ago to replace the same model that I had before that was 14 years old and compressor failing. I prefer a bottom freezer with the pull out drawer where I can see what's there and it's easy to get to. I am disappointed that the adjustable dividers of both freezer drawers have been replaced with dividers that cannot be moved. I miss the flexibility that was offered by my original Amana. I am also disappointed that the meat/cheese drawer that went completely across bottom of refrigerator is not a smaller drawer under one of the shelves. I like the digital temperature controls which makes it possible to see exactly what the setting for each space is.

Noisy

We replaced our old Amana with this model. Our old one was one texture. On this one, the doors are not textured. Too bad they changed it. This fridge is so noisy. I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that the delivery guys had it laying down in their truck when they came to delivery it or not, but it is too noisy for my liking.

This was a replacement for our 15 year old Amana of similar style. This one doesn't have an ice maker, no great loss. We do miss the pantry drawer. They included a little 1/2 drawer that is pretty useless and just takes up space. The shelves and drawers are not up to the quality of the old ones. Much flimsier. We are using the old ones. The door doesn't match the refrigerator either in size or finish (see attached picture). It looks like this was cobbled together from two different refrigerators. The body of the refrigerator has a rough finish that we loved. The door is smooth. And, as you can see, the door is higher than the body of the refrigerator. We also had to change the door swing from left open to right open. As you can see in the second picture there are permanent dents where the handle was. You can't see the bottom one very well but it is as deep as the top one. I watched when the change was being made by the delivery people. They did it correctly. They didn't make the dents. Finally, what genius thought they knew how we would want our freezer organized? The dividers were not adjustable. We removed them. Not easy. They had to be destroyed. The only thing inside the refrigerator that came with it is the shelf over the vegetable crisper drawer. Only because we couldn't change it out. And, by the way, there are humidity controls for the crisper drawers. Instead of putting High to Low like the older model it now has Fruit or Vegetables. Really wish we could have kept the old refrigerator.

Our old fridge failed and we were able to replace it with this one in 1 day. It works very well and has the same features as the old one. It was easy to adjust to.

I wanted a simple unit , but one I could reach the frige part with out bending over . I found the adjustments to be well designed , and it was easy to adjust the level so the door did not slam or swing open ....

I have been wanting a bottom freezer refrigerator for several years and finally got one. I love the convenience. The Amana is just the right size. It is quiet and keeps things at just the right temperature. I wish I had bought it sonner.
