I bought this freezer to replace an old chest type freezer. I did have to remove the door to bring it inside. But that was not a big deal. The light inside is very bright. There is a lot of room inside. I am very happy with this freezer.

Oh! what a big difference after having to dig things out of my middle size chest freezer. I absolutely love this new Maytag upright. When you open the door, everything is easy to see and get to. Love, love, love it!

This was delivered a week ago. I love that it's frost free. I am disappointed that it only came with 3 shelves and to purchase 1 LG shelf is $65. (Why is it so pricey for a wire shelf????)
It didn't even come with the glass shelf on the botton.

I purchased this unit as a quick replacement for my 30 year old unit that suddenly quit - a freezer full of custom beef made this a necessity. After having the freezer for a week, I'm extremely satisfied with it. The option of not having a handle stick out was a bonus, as I frequently ran into it while carrying laundry past my old freezer. Very satisfied!

Looks well constructed, and has vents at every shelf so it would be hard to accidentally block the cold air. 10 year compressor warranty which is rare today.

I love having the upright freezer, I had a chest freezer. Although it worked great, because I'm handicapped it was not easy to pull freezer items in and out. With my new upright, I just open it up and can quickly see what's available and take it out.

When our chest freezer went after just over 5 yr..... I knew I had to get something that would make life easier. After careful research and price checking.... This Maytag Upright 16 cu Ft Freezer had everything I wanted and more. Not only will the Upright make it easier to manage not having to constantly rotate food from bottom to top as with a chest freezer, but it easily is accessable to just go in and get what I need. I love the adjustable wired shelving. Having door shelves is a big plus as well. I have the setting on cold and it is perfect. It also is Energy efficient. The biggest plus is Maytags 10 year warranty on the compressor. My last was 5 years and sure enough just after 5 years it went out. I opted for Home Depots extended 5 year warranty for parts and labor because frankly we all know how expensive labor can be and I just don't want to deal with that down the road if needed. Peace of mind comes with a price, but you can't beat the price on this Maytag. Hands down a winner in my book.By the way it is quiet. I mean there's a little noise but not like some have commented. MayTag is as American as Apple Pie...... The name says it all!!

I've only had this for a month or so and it's doing very well for us. We immediately filled it with frozen items and the shelves and door space held everything. The size of it is more than sufficient for us as a 2 person family and it doesn't take up much space which is good since we downsized from one house to another. It runs very quietly, nice!

For the longest time we had a chest freezer in our garage and we hated it. Always having to unpack the whole thing to get something. Our new Maytag though solved all the issues. Not only is it spacious and easy to see everything at one glance, it has very robust shelves and a nice bright light in the cabinet. Great construction and a nice flat plug for the outlet is an extra touch of smart design. Would highly recommend!
The only issue I had was it shipped without the rear rollers so moving it around was a little extra work. Thankfully the freezer is light though. It would also be nice to have one more shelf rack. Still would highly recommend though and have zero regrets making this purchase!

For a 16 cubic upright freezer, this was priced right. Lots of shelf positions, good lighting and quiet operation with a adjustable door as well. On the down side, extra shelves are expensive, and you will need at least one, the temp control isn't very adjustable, only factory presents, and the heat is exited on the sides and top, so you can't put stuff on top of the freezer. But still is a good value, hope it last longer then the Frigidaire, which died at 4 years.

We previously had a 7.5 cu. ft. freezer that was not meeting our needs. As we looked at a replacement the Maytag offered several compelling options. The desire was for an upright instead of a chest design, plenty of shelf space and well lit and most importantly it needed to be frost free. All of these features are present in the Maytag.

My wife is 5' 3" and I'm 5' 11" and we're both just on this side of being 60 years old. This little upright freezer is just what we needed in the garage to replace a chest freezer that we were getting tired of having to bend over into to access contents clear at the bottom. Plus, it's frost-free, so no chipping away to make sure the door shuts. Got it locally when it went on sale and it was delivered to our home by the dealer free of charge. It's great!
